With the conclusion of the State Convention, significant changes were adopted and we will be making updates to both the bylaws and platform section of the site.
There were new representatives elected to SLEC seats for Fort Bend County. Candace Sessums was elected to represent District 18. Michael Lee & David Finberg were elected to represent District 17. I am confident that all will perform exceptionally in the years to come.

AUSTIN - A federal judge hearing a ballot dispute Monday involving former U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay said he thinks that DeLay withdrew from the November election, indicating potential trouble for Republicans who want to name a replacement candidate.
"He is not going to participate in the election and he withdrew," said U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks, who did not issue an official ruling after a daylong trial regarding DeLay's status as the GOP nominee for the 22nd Congressional District.

HOUSTON -- Houston's police chief on Wednesday proposed placing surveillance cameras in apartment complexes, downtown streets, shopping malls and even private homes to fight crime during a shortage of police officers.
"I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?" Chief Harold Hurtt told reporters Wednesday at a regular briefing.

First of all, I would like to announce that I am converting to a web based system this week. My current method of communication takes entirely too much time and must be shelved. As a result, and considering that some of you are on multiple lists, you may receive a duplicate notice. I am not sure how phplist handles these multiple occurrences. I will attempt to prevent this in the future if it happens.
